by: Angela Santomero | Filed under Blue's Clues, Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood, Super Why!

I met with The818’s Morgan Shanahan via Skype the other day to discuss my new creative arts program, Creative Galaxy, math based program, Sara Solves it, (Amazon Studios), the preschool tv biz, Fred Rogers and much more.

With our never ending to-do lists, it’s fun (and necessary) to sit and talk about why we do what we do.

(And now, a comment that’s actually on topic. :))
Wait a minute. Wait a minute.
You got the idea for skidooing from the neighborhood of Make-Believe?
    Well.
    That’s…. unexpected.
As THE mr. Rogers fan that I am (and also a ginormous Blue’s Clues fan, I have to say–I….never made that connection. VERY interesting. 🙂

    • Actually no. But I like the parallel. Perhaps on some subconscious level? Still working on your earlier ?s. Ever feel like you never have enough time in a day? Thanks for your comments..no really 🙂

(The topic of this post is WAY off what’s above–the only reason it’s going here is that you haven’t put a post about this particular thing in a while–feel free to move it, delete it afterwards, etc. I just figured you’d want to read this) 🙂

Okay, Angela–remember when I said I might have something else to review by Sunday afternoon?
    Well, I do.
I went along with my little brother and mom to see Super WHY Live in Chicago. 🙂
    MINOR SPOILERS!!!!!!

Angela, it was terrific! VERY faithful adaptation of the show from the stage to the screen (Heck, some of the show was still ON the screen–I especially loved how the opening and closing had animated Whyatt on the school bookshelf.) 🙂
–The transformation sequence–my word. I wanna know how they did that! (Double yay for the return of the Super You transformation!)
–The WhyFlyers were incredibly cool (that was Nathan’s favorite part)
–The Super Letters hiding all over the theater–nice touch! 🙂
Folks reading this, if it’s coming to your area, go! 🙂

Now having said that, it wouldm’t be a Jumpman post without some negatives, would it? (Don’t worry, most are minor)
    MINOR SPOILERS!!!!!

–Why was Wonder Red’s song changed? (We didn’t get her Rhyme Time song, [wonderiffic, you’re teriffic} but a new one about Word Power)

–(I will admit, on this one I might be a little confused–Nathan went to the bathroom right before this segment, so I wasn’t watching closely)
–Why was Woofster only in Act II?

–It seems to me that you don’t have Whyatt using his main power-changing stories for the better. Why not? (Again, I could very well have missed something.)

And the biggest complaint I have…well, I won’t say here, as it is a MAJOR spoiler for the show. (If you really want to know, feel free to send an email. (It’s not that I secretly think the show was horrible or cheesy, I promise. It was very well done. :))
